The Archive

Pieces that found their home.

Each release is its own distinct chapter. Once a specific colorway and silhouette are gone, we let that combination rest to make space for the next expression of the print. That is our commitment to the evolution of the craft and to you.

Born from the ashes. A love letter to Lahaina.

Who we are

Born from the ashes. A love letter to Lahaina.

HENŌHEA was born out of deep heartbreak, fierce hope, and an unshakeable promise to our hometown. In August 2023, the fires took our fifth generation family home and everything we owned. Weeks later, amidst the ash and displacement, we received a miracle... after a decade of unexplained infertility, we were expecting. Our son, Henōheamakahiokalehu—"the beauty that comes from the ashes"—became our beacon of light.

We started HENŌHEA in our temporary FEMA housing to ensure that what the fire took would never be forgotten. We design wearable art rooted in Lahaina’s cultural moʻolelo, keeping our history, our kūpuna, and our memories alive through every thread. This is our love letter to home. This is our kuleana.

01

Every print holds a moʻolelo

Our designs are not decoration. From the signature ʻUlu representing the heartbeat of our town, to prints inspired by the orchids that once flourished in our yard, every piece is a visual record of Lahaina’s land, history, and enduring spirit. We listen to our history before we ever touch the fabric. Moʻolelo · Story, History, Tradition

02

Mindfully sourced for your skin and our ʻĀina.

Our commitment to fabric integrity is deeply personal. After navigating a long journey with infertility and learning about the heavy chemical treatments common in conventional textile production, I promised to set a higher standard for my family and yours. We exclusively select plant based materials independently lab tested to meet strict global safety standards. By choosing fabrics certified to exclude substances like PFAS, formaldehyde, and microplastics, we honor your skin while keeping our footprint light on the land.

03

Small chapters for the whole ʻohana.

We refuse to mass produce or treat our home like a commercial commodity. We release our clothing in small, limited runs for the entire 'ohana from Wahine and Kāne to the Keiki who will carry these stories forward. When a specific color and silhouette find their home, that chapter is complete, making room for a new expression to grow. Kuleana · Responsibility

Read Our Story

Stories you can carry.

We are more than a label. We are a collection of stories pressed into fabric. Every piece we make carries the name of the place, the plant, or the people who inspired it.
