Collection: The Hoʻihoʻi Relief Collection: It’s a Kākou Thing

In August 2023, when the fire took our homes and our businesses, we learned what it truly means to be carried. We didn't survive on our own... we survived because of you. From every corner of these islands, across every channel, you showed up for us with steady hands when ours were shaking. You gave us the strength to see a tomorrow when our today was still in ashes.

Now, as Hurricane Lala has swept across the pae ʻāina tearing through our islands, flooding homes, uprooting ancestral lands, and isolating families across the chain, the weight of loss is being felt by our neighbors once again.

Hoʻihoʻi is about restoration. It is the act of returning the support we once received. This collection is our full circle moment, a promise kept from our island to yours. We know the exhaustion of the "after," and we also know what it feels like when the people of Hawaiʻi say, "You are not alone."

The Design: A Map of Our Unity

This is a visual record of our collective resilience drawn by the beautiful and talented @SHOPERIKADESIGNS. Every line and leaf in the "HAWAIʻI" design tells the story of our island chain coming together to do the heavy lifting of recovery after Hurricane Lala.

This artwork honors the families across every island standing strong through the wreckage.

At the center sits the "W" anchored by the ʻUlu leaf, the silhouette of Mauna Kahālāwai, and the Lahainaluna "L", representing kōkua straight from Lahaina to every island and family impacted by this storm. It is our signature of gratitude and a sign of Lahaina standing strong alongside our entire island chain.

Maile is woven through the whole design, representing the unbroken line of kōkua that connects all of our islands in this effort.

The Mission: Direct to ’Ohana & Community

100% of the net proceeds from the Hoʻihoʻi Relief Collection will go directly to 'ohana impacted by Hurricane Lala through Hawai’i Mutual Aid (formerly Help Maui Rise)and on the ground community efforts. No middleman. No corporate cuts. Just one island chain taking care of its own.

We know the trauma of the "after." We also know the power of the "together." You showed up for us. Now, we show up for you. Because recovery is never a solo journey, "it’s a kākou thing."
