Introducing the ʻUlu Kapa Kuiki Destinee Maxi Dress, a design inspired by the rich history of Ka Malu ʻUlu O Lele, the former name for Lahaina, where the land was once blanketed by towering ‘ulu trees, allowing only the ocean's edge to catch the sun's rays. Before the plantation era altered our environment, Lahaina thrived with natural abundance, deeply intertwined with aloha ʻāina. In the wake of the tragic fire on August 8th, our commitment to nurturing our home, our bodies, and our future has grown stronger. This collection is our tribute to that calling.
The ʻUlu Kapa Kuiki design is a new creation, hand drawn with an unexpected contribution: Henōhea, in his playful innocence, added his unique touch by grabbing the pen as the design unfolded. The small, imperfect strokes he left behind transformed the piece into something truly special, representing growth, healing, and the beauty of imperfection.
