‘Ulu Kapa Kuiki in Noe Jumper
‘Ulu Kapa Kuiki in Noe Jumper
The collection you sold out is here! The beloved 'Ulu Kapa Kuiki in Noe Jumper returns for a new chapter in our story. This design, an evolution of our love for Lahaina and still grounded in Ka Malu ʻUlu O Lele, is stitched with meaning, shaped by imperfection, and brought to life by the most unexpected artist: our youngest son and inspiration behind our brand, Henōhea himself.
Without even knowing it, Henōhea’s hand helped shape part of this pattern. His unfiltered marks, unpolished, unplanned, and completely perfect, remind us that beauty is often found in what’s real and raw. This design doesn’t strive for flawlessness. Instead, it embraces every uneven line, every wobble, every honest stroke. It's a piece of him. A piece of us.
And just as this design reflects our deepest values, so does the material we chose to carry it.
Why We Chose TENCEL™ Cotton
When you choose our 'Ulu Kapa Kuiki in Noe Jumper, you're making a conscious decision that’s better for you and the planet.
- Gentle & Plant Based: Our TENCEL™ cotton blend is a gentle, breathable, and plant based fabric, a softer alternative to conventional materials that can contain harsh chemicals and synthetics.
- Conscious Choice: This makes it a great choice for sensitive skin and for our ʻāina.
- Comfort: It feels lightweight and comfortable against the skin, perfect for Hawaiʻi's warm climate.
Enhanced Comfort & Fit
Based on your feedback, we've slightly modified our original jumper to make this one even better. The 'Ulu Kapa Kuiki in Noe Jumper has an extended front rise and a relaxed, loose fit, giving you added comfort and a more comfortable feel.
- Fit Upgrade: The extended front rise is especially suited for a taller frame.
- Flexibility: The blend of TENCEL™ and cotton gives it a slight stretch, so it moves with you effortlessly.

Fabric & Care
Fabric & Care
Our pieces are crafted from a premium blend of 95% Bamboo and 5% Elastane. We chose this specific blend for its luxurious drape, softness, and breathable comfort, perfect for island living and gentle on sensitive skin.
Care Instructions
To preserve the life of your garment and the vibrancy of our signature ʻulu print:
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors.
- Use mild, eco-friendly detergent to protect the natural fibers and AZO-free dyes.
- Lay flat to dry is recommended, or tumble dry on low heat.
- Iron on a low setting only if needed.
- Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, which can break down the integrity of the bamboo fibers.
A Note on Natural Processes
Because we prioritize OEKO-TEX® certified materials and reactive, AZO-free dyes, you may notice slight variations or a natural shift in color over time. We embrace these changes as a sign of the fabric’s natural integrity and our journey away from the harsh, toxic "perfection" of big box fashion.
Our Commitment
Our Commitment
From Factory to Family
At Henōhea, we believe that the story of a garment begins long before it reaches your hands. The choices we make in our manufacturing process have a ripple effect that touches everyone involved, from the factory workers to the surrounding communities where our pieces are created.
Human Centered Production & Safety
Traditional textile manufacturing often exposes workers to hazardous chemicals and releases toxic runoff into their local water sources. By insisting on a closed-loop system and OEKO-TEX® certified materials, we are advocating for a safer environment for the hands that carefully craft our collections. Our use of AZO-free reactive dyes ensures that our colors bond to the fiber rather than leaching onto your skin or into the water. This choice minimizes the risk of respiratory issues and skin sensitivities for workers and protects the health of the communities surrounding our manufacturing facilities.
Protecting the ʻĀina and Beyond
When we keep solvents out of the environment at the source, we are protecting global waterways that eventually connect us all. For us, this is a commitment to the ʻāina that extends from the place of origin to right here in Maui, ensuring that the legacy we leave behind is one of abundance and health, not toxicity.
The Full Circle
While we strive for the highest standards, we want to be transparent: achieving a 100% toxic-free status is an almost impossible challenge in the current global textile industry. We recognize that perfection is not always attainable, but we are deeply committed to learning, growing, and pivoting with every collection to find cleaner ways forward not just for our customers, but for the people who make our brand possible and the world where our pieces eventually land.
