Unahi Wai Collection, a beautiful collaboration with Pa'ele Kiakona. This collection honors the powerful return of the Nenue fish to Māla Wharf (Lahaina), a direct result of freshwater flowing freely again after decades of diversion. The design beautifully reflects the Nenue's scales—a symbol of life restored, reminding us that what we return to the land, returns to us in life.

Crafted from sustainable TENCEL™, each piece is soft on your skin, strong in spirit, and kind to the 'āina, ensuring we reduce microplastics from our fabrics that enter our wai. It embodies our kuleana to protect our ʻāina and natural resources. This is Ola i ka wai—water is life, woven into every thread.

ABOUT US

Aloha, I’m Courtney, the founder of Henōhea.
I’m a proud Native Hawaiian from Lahaina, with my 'ohana’s roots running deep—over 10 generations strong. I’m also a wife and mom to three amazing boys. In addition to my Hawaiian heritage, I’m a proud Filipina granddaughter of a Sakada, one of the first Filipino workers who arrived in Hawaii in the early 1900s to work on the sugar plantations.

Henōhea was born out of heartbreak and hope. After years of infertility struggles, we were blessed with an unexpected miracle in the aftermath of the Lahaina fire when we learned we were expecting our son. As the fire took much of our history, I began sketching designs to preserve the memories and stories that were lost. Those sketches became the foundation of Henōhea.

Henōhea is more than just a brand—it’s a love letter to Lahaina, a symbol of resilience, and an invitation to join in the healing.
